Megan & Tim

What a fun opportunity for us to photograph Megan & Tim’s wedding – Tim and I went to high school together in MN years ago! We both attended United South Central High School in Wells, MN. USC is a tiny little school in a tiny little town so it was pretty crazy for me to hear that Tim was marrying a girl from Solon (15 minutes from West Branch) and they wanted me to photograph their wedding! Sweetness!

The wedding was the Saturday after Christmas so it was snowy and beautiful outside (not to mention more than just a little chilly!) But, Megan and Tim were troopers and they ran outside a few times for some awesome photos, at my request!

Once again, I can’t pick my favorite ring shot…here’s my shot

and here’s Stephen’s shot (by the way, check out the groom’s ring…it has some crazy Japanese metal in the middle and it looks like no other ring I’ve ever seen!)

They got married in this gorgeous church…with real wood floors…so pretty!

All the little kiddos in this wedding were adorable…but there was one in particular that just captured my heart. His name is Wayne and he’s about 2 years old. Here’s a photo of him with one of the flowergirls…I think they were getting their gameplan together before walking down the asile!

Here’s a crazy first dance one! For you photographers out there, I had shutter of 1/5th, f10, ISO 320, used flash and gave the camera a twirl! Love the result!

Lovebirds!

Jenae & Alan are planning a June wedding and we are so excited we get to photograph them! These two are such a fun couple. They’re relaxed and fun and I just know their wedding is going to be a blast!

Check out a few of my favorite shots from their engagement session a few weeks ago. We ended up sort of getting a snowstorm during their session but they were up for anything…I’m so glad because the snowy shots are awesome!

These two are such a fun couple! From the beginning of the shoot they were flirting and giggling – I knew this was going to be fun! They’re getting married this coming May and I’m super excited to photograph their wedding!

Eric & Amy

What a great couple! They’re both teachers, both super sweet people and both madly in love with each other! Their engagement session was great…Eric’s from West Branch and Amy’s from Davenport so they choose to share locations…the engagement session here in West Branch while the wedding will be in Davenport this coming July.

Rachel & Todd – West Branch Wedding

These two had an amazing day! The weather was perfect, the season colors were rich and they were surrounded by hundreds of friends and family members celebrating their love!

Rachel did a wonderful job planning this wedding and I am so in love with her color choices…burnt orange, deep brown, and creamy ivory were accented by bright highlight colors like pink, red and yellow. It was just beautiful! Check out a bunch of my favorite shots!
First off, the shoes. My love for shoes was deeply indulged at this wedding…Rachels’ shoes were awesome! So awesome, in fact that I couldn’t decide which shot I liked better so I thought I’d post them both! First shot is Stephen’s, second is mine:

Seeing the World

I’m often told that I have a creative eye – good thing too since I took the whole photographer route! 🙂 But, seriously, my clients often mention that I can see the beauty in places and moments that often goes missed…whether it be the texture of an abandoned old building, the soft backlight created by the setting sun, or a beautiful moment from when a bride’s getting ready like this:

(by the way, the above photo is just a teaser from our most recent wedding! Rachel and Todd got married on 11/3 and we’re so glad they chose us to document their big day! I have a bunch of photos I love from this wedding so check back tomorrow to check out some more shots!)

Anyway, I feel blessed that I am able to see the beauty in moments often missed in life and am so glad I am able to capture them…such a precious gift! Anyway, off to get some shut eye!

Sonni & Adam

What a cute couple! They compliment each other perfectly, while Adam is the strong quiet type, Sonni is just like her name – she has a cheery, giggly personality. Her cute giggles often lit up Adam’s face during our shoot. Photographing their wedding in a year will be a true treat for us as we have gotten to know Adam’s family during our past few years living in West Branch and they’re a fun bunch!

Brooke & Mikkel

Here it is! I finally have up images from what might be my wedding of the year! Not only was this my best friend’s wedding but I was both her maid of honor and head photographer – whew!

It was such an amazing day!!! Brooke was gorgeous and Mikkel, her groom, looked pretty good himself. Mikkel is from Denmark and his entire family flew to the US for this wedding. It was just wonderful to meet his family and learn about some fun Danish traditions at weddings.

These two are such a fun couple – and I’m excited to photograph their upcoming wedding! We got together and took some engagement photos last week – turns out the location we chose was right next to Rachel’s dad’s shop and right down the street from where she used to live….perfect! Claire

I’m back from my best friend’s wedding!  Thank goodness I won’t be both the maid of honor and head photographer ever again – it was hard…but so awesome too!  We got so many awesome shots but I’ve still got to sort and edit…until then, here are some photos of sweet little Claire!

Claire is only a  few weeks old and she is just beautiful!  Her parents just love her to pieces – it’s always fun seeing two people with so much love in their eyes – Betsy and Matt you are fabulous parents!  Check out some favorites!
