My Mother the Photographer

Ok, she’s not a photographer…but she does take my family photos for me! I set the camera up, get us all lined up (with the help of Stephen) and say “hit the button!” My mom hits that shutter over and over and gets some sweet family photos for me. This year, I have to give a little credit to my friend Lynnette, too, as she took some of our family photos during our first session. (Yes, we had two “sessions” my 2 1/2 year old was a little extra wild on our first try 🙂 So, to all you mom’s out there, if your kiddo gets a little extra excited during your session – I COMPLETELY understand! 🙂

Anyway, our family photos came out super sweet and I wanted to share them with you! Check out my fav’s!

Yes, we totally climbed up on a train for this one! If you know me very well, you know I’ll do just about anything for a good photo!

Abbie

What a fun weekend!  Stephen, the kids and I drove to my hometown in Minnesota to celebrate my mom’s birthday – we threw a surprise party and everything!  We had such a blast but it’s nice to be back home again!
Here are some photos of another senior client of ours, Abbie.  Abbie was a joy to photograph – this girl loves photography!  I even threw in a couple of photos of her with her camera, check ’em out!

Obermueller Family

What a cute family! Cute kids, cute couple – just cute all around! We were stuck with a pretty rainy day, otherwise I would have loved to run around outside snapping photos of this family!

But, we ended up getting creative inside, which was fun! Check out some of my favorites! (PS -Daddy Wes might have one of the coolest jobs ever – he plays in the MLB!!!)

Curtis

One of my good friend’s little brothers came to me for his senior photos lately – Curtis! Curtis is a guy’s guy – into four wheelers, hunting, his bow and arrow and all around tough guy stuff! This was a fun treat for me – it’s my first official wheelie in senior photos – check it out!

Why not throw in one with his sisters and brother-in-law?! On the right side of this photo are our good friends Jill and Brad.  We hang out all the time! Brad and my hubby, Stephen, coach basketball together – so this leaves Jill and I with lots of time to hang out together – and what do we do? We shop like it’s going outta style! 🙂

Amanda

This girl had a drive to get here – she’s from my hometown in Minnesota – about 4 hours away! But, I’m so glad she drove over because she was so much fun! We grew up knowing each other (actually, one year our moms had us dress up together for Halloween….I was a chicken and she was my egg which I pulled around in a little wagon behind me! ha!)

Anyway, it was great seeing Amanda again and reliving a few high school memories (she’s a senior at my high school now and has a few of the same teachers I used to have!)

Seth

Sorry I’ve been gone from the blog for a few days – I spent my weekend taking about a trillion kids photos for a MOPS fundraiser.  It was great to help out but I’m exhausted!

Anyway, back to some more awesome seniors.  Seth is a senior from Tipton – he came to us with a cool personal style so I was amped to get to photograph him.  I love it when guys bring along guitars – so sweet!  Check out some favorites!

Trash the Dress and Drown the Gown in Print!

Here’s our exciting news!  This Sunday the Gazette will be featuring a story on the trends of Trashing the Dress and Drowning the Gown – with our work printed in the paper!  Carly, a writer from the Gazette, contacted me about our work with this trend and followed me on the shoots that I did a few weeks ago.  She wrote an article all about it and selected some of her favorite shots I took to run in the paper.  Make sure to pick up a copy of the Gazette on Sunday and see what Carly has to say!

Jeff

Here’s another West Branch Senior.  He’s a football player on the awesome WB Bears team, and Jeff is also a super nice guy!  Actually, his family is pretty darn nice all around so they’re a joy to work for!
