God’s Newest Angel

This past March I was blessed to have the opportunity to meet a beautiful little girl named, Chloe, who touched my heart.  Chloe was born with a heart defect and she wasn’t expected to live much longer than her return home from the hospital.  This past November, Chloe turned two years old, this week she celebrated Christmas with her family and the next day God took her home.

I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to photograph Chloe, such a sweet little angel.  I would like to extend our services to other families with sick children.  We plan to develop a line of complimentary services offered to families with suffering children.  This service is still in it’s beginning stages but we will keep you updated with new developments.  Feel free to send anyone you may know who’d like us to photograph their children our way!

Merry Christmas

Merry belated Christmas everyone! I hope you all had a happy, healthy, relaxing day! Just for fun, here are a few snapshots of our kiddos opening their presents last night:

Hadiza – West High School

Here’s Hadiza, our last official senior girl of the year!  Kinda sad to be done!  She was such fun!  A ton of our senior clients this year came from West High School in Iowa City and we’ve been enjoying getting to know all of them.

Even though it was FREEZING cold outside, Hadiza was up for my crazy ideas and I think we got some amazing shots.

Carly and family

I felt honored when Carly, the Gazette journalist who wrote about our Dress Trashing and Gown Drowning asked me to photograph her!  She’s due to have a baby girl, Norah, in a few weeks and wanted some maternity photos and some shots of her current family.

I was so happy with how these turned out!  She has that pregnant woman “glow” (which seemed to bypass me in BOTH of my pregnancies!) Isn’t she beautiful?!

I won!!!

Oh my stars, I never win ANYTHING…but, this time I guess I won!!! My amazing website company, Blu Domain, selected me last week to be 1 of 5 contestants (picked from 500 entries) to compete in a Holiday scavenger hunt this past week. Everyday I had an assignment to be completed as fast as I could and the final assignment was given to us over the weekend. Today they announced their winner, and I won!!! I am so excited!

MIA

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA on the blog this week…I’ve had the flu, an infection, a fever and I also became allergic to the medicine that was supposed to make me better!! It was awful…but now I’m on the mend though still not venturing out of the house much. I keep trying to make my mom’s homemade potato soup…it always makes me feel better.

Anyway, how about some sweet photos to cheer us all up?! Hanna is such a gorgeous girl. She was one of our spokesmodels from West High School and she is just fantastic. She’s so super cute and is super comfortable in front of the camera. I could have taken photos of her all day! Unfortunately the weather was FREEZING outside so we didn’t spend very long out there…but I still LOVE these photos!

Christmas Slideshow

Our little surprise is out!  For the month of December, our Portrait and Wedding websites each have their own slideshow featuring some of our favorite moments from our 2007 shoots.  This slideshow is a thank you to our amazing clients who allowed us into their lives – we are so thankful to have met all of you!  Enjoy!

Happy Day!

So, the Fall is crazy for photographers.  I usually prefer to do 2-3 shoots per week and I’ve been doing something like 7-8 shoots per week for the past few months, so I’m due for a break!  🙂

I just noticed my to do list today.  It’s the first time I’ve seen most things on the list crossed of since probably July!  I’m so excited about it..so I thought I’d share a photo with you!  If you can read my writing you’ll see that I have a number of shoots to still be blogged and also there’s a Christmas slideshow mentioned….a little foreshadowing of a surprise we have coming up in December!

I thought I’d throw in a photo of my Christmas tree too…since I promised you one a few days ago.  I’m officially addicted to Christmas…I could decorate my tree for hours on end and usually spend a few nights awake wrapping presents…just for the fun of it!

These two are such a fun couple! From the beginning of the shoot they were flirting and giggling – I knew this was going to be fun! They’re getting married this coming May and I’m super excited to photograph their wedding!

The Morden Family

What a joy it is to see this family again!  They were one of my very first “official” portrait clients three years ago when I started up my business.  Now, the business has grown immensely, we’re booked solid and the Morden’s still chose to come back to us.  I was so happy to see them again!

The boys have grown up so much!  You might not be able to tell but the two youngest little guys are actually twins!  They’re all just adorable.  Check out some fav’s!
